Howard Ben Tré: New Sculpture - Exhibition Event Details

Howard Ben Tré: New Sculpture
January 24 - May 17, 2015
Howard Ben Tré: New Sculpture is an exhibition of stunning cast glass and bronze sculptures, including works from his recent “Lightness of Being” series. With sculpture represented in more than 85 museum and public collections, Ben Tré is a pioneer in the use of cast glass as a sculptural medium. His recent sculpture was inspired by traditional architectural forms of columns, spires, minarets and obelisks. At the same time, they can be seen as individual figures forming a related family group within a defined space. Each sculpture has a foot anchoring it firmly to the ground, a demarcated waist and a head that continues the upward movement of the form. As individual works, they speak to the connection between architectural forms and the creation of human communities.

Discoveries in the Cemetery…and Evernote Tips for Your Summer Project!!

The business meeting convenes at 9:30AM followed by refreshments and the lectures, which begin at 10:30AM . This meeting is free and open to the public.
IRGS President, Bob Satola, and IRGS Webmaster, Bob Inhoff are featured in a double header monthly meeting! One could safely guess that before IRGS began their current project of documenting the cemeteries of Indian River County, Bob Satola would not be telling cemetery stories! And there are many stories to tell!! Indian River County burial grounds hold the legends of local pioneers, tragedies of its’ citizens, or simply provide recognition for those who lived and died in our midst. From large to small, from private to public each cemetery has a story, all its own.

For questions about this meeting, please call 772 444-7470 or send an e-mail to pr@irgs.org. Please access the society’s website at www.irgs.org to learn more about membership and upcoming events.
