9:00 AM FREE Summer Camp- ORCA Living Lagoon

ORCA will host two weeks of summer camp, July 8-12 and July 15-19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Camp activities will be held at various locations in Indian River County. The camps include peer-to-peer mentoring between mentors enrolled in general education classes and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) student mentees to enhance leadership and communication skills and create meaningful friendships. The camps focus on improving the health of the Indian River Lagoon through hands-on activities designed to promote teamwork and environmental stewardship.

Each week of summer camp will be open to 20 Indian River County students ages 14-18, 10 general education student mentors will participate in both weeks of camp and 10 different ESE student mentees will participate each week, or 30 students total for the two weeks. Mentors will be trained prior to camp and will be paired with one ESE mentee each week. The summer camps are funded by Indian River Children's Services Advisory Committee and will be offered to students at no cost.
